Ivan Ahimbisibwe: Nyamityobora Striker Joins UPL Side

Uganda Premier League side UPDF FC have completed the signing of Ivan Ahimbisibwe, a striker from FUFA Big League side Nyamityobora FC as reported by sources close to the club.

Ahimbisibwe has been described by many around the football circles as one for the future given his industrious approach to the game.

An attitude that is paramount to any footballer but even more so for a forward thinking player, whose responsibility is to bang in the goals.

His last for Nyamityobora however posed a challenging memory as they agonizingly faced a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Gadaffi FC in the FUFA Big League Playoff semi-final.

In the event that the deal is confirmed by the club, Ahimbisirwe will not only add to the striking options of UPDF FC but also create competition for the aforementioned positions.

The Army side are also set to finalize a deal for the former Onduparaka FC duo of defender Waswa Shaban and midfielder Oscar Agaba whose release by the West Nile giants was a month ago.

The club has since hired a new head coach in Brian Senyondo as replacement for departed Kefa Kisala. His tenure is already underway.

They have also lost a host of players including Brian Kayanja who joined KCCA, Robert Eseru and Vuni Joseph who are set to sign for debutants Arua Hill.
