StarTimes Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC have resorted to staging a pre-season training camp in Dar es Salaam following their ejection from the 2021 CECAFA Kagame tournament.
Initially the Lugogo based side, who also doubled as the defending champions of the fore-mentioned tournament had travelled to Tanzania for just the competition and nothing else.
Little did they know that this was going to be a tough experience for them, finishing rock bottom of Group B with just 3 points.
As a result, the management at the club decided to further their stay in Dar es Salaam for one more week in a training camp.
Speaking about the new developments, the head coach Morley Byekwaso had this to say:
“We decided to continue our pre-season in Dar es Salaam to allow the players to be introduced to workouts that help with. We are systematically doing this with a team of professionals and it will be important for us if the methods employed here continue through-out the season.”
It’s understood that the Kasasiro boys will take part in a friendly game this Friday 13th August in Dar es Salaam.
It is one of the major objectives for the team to build a stronger bond, improve fitness levels and gain match practice before returning home on Sunday 15th August 2021.
Morley Byekwaso and his technical team have their work cut out for them as the team gears up for the 2021/22 season. A good pre-season will surely go a long way in preparing the team for the new season.
