The Federations of Uganda football Association has confirmed that the Uganda Cup Semi final draws will be held next week on Monday August, 9th at the Fufa house in Mengo.
This comes after the presidential address last week gave all sporting activities a green light in the country amidst restrictions.
Earlier on last month , FUFA stated that the 2020/21 Stanbic Uganda Cup will be have a natural ending despite ending the Uganda Premier League season, with Express coming as eventual Champions.
Before the country was put back to lockdown in June after surging numbers of COVID-19 that halted all sporting activities in the country, this competition was at the semifinal stage and only awaiting draws.
Four Uganda Premier League clubs are still in contest for the competition and they include Express FC, Vipers SC, Bul FC and Police FC. These four will now be waiting to learn their opponents on Monday.
Last season , the cup competition was declared null and void due to the outbreak of the deadly pandemic of Covid19 early last year.
This season, the competition was kicked off at the round of 32 with only Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League clubs.
However, despite the new developments, FUFA has already declared URA FC as next season’s CAF Confederation Cup representative, a position that is normally taken by a Uganda Cup winner.
