Four have been crowned at the Fortebet Real Star Sports Awards for the concluded month of June.
The awards that seek to reward Sports Excellency in various disciplines are held monthly, and sponsored by Fortebet, Canaan Soda and Jude Colour Solutions.
Joseph Ssemujju (Football), Duncan Mubiru Kikankane (Rally), Kirabo Namutebi (Swimming) and Brian Ssemwogerere (Hockey) were the winners.
The ceremony was held on Wednesday at Route256 bar, with few members present as the committee maximumly observed SOPs.
There was less action in the concluded month of June after Government announced a ban on Sports due to high rise of Covid19 cases.
Winger Ssemujju who scored a brace as BUL relegated MYDA with 6-1 thumping on June 15, was named the best footballer.
The former SC Villa, Vipers, Express and Proline player beat Bobosi Byaruhanga (Vipers) and Sam Ssenyonjo (KCCA) to the award.
Rally Driver Kikankane – winner of the Kenya National Rally Championship Class Victory at the Safari event – edged Jas Mangat and Rajiv Ruparelia to the gong.
Kirabo Namutebi who is in Kazan for a training camp, won Silver in the 50m freestyle at the Golden Orlando Cup in Croation, a qualification event.
Ssemwogerere took home the best of Hockey with the Stallion winger emerging in a category that also had nominees Sharon Oroma and Brian Okodi.
