Express FC defender will captain the Uganda Kobs squad for Cecafa U23 Championship.
Coach Morley Byekwaso has named a squad of 25 players for the Saudi Arabia trip, where the final 23 will be picked from.
The squad is without Gavin Kizito and Sadat Anaku among others who were named in the provisional 40-man team.
Some of the missing players are said to have tested positive for Coronavirus.
This year’s cecafa tournament is for players below 23 years of age but tournament rules permit three players above the said category.
The delayed Cecafa U23 tourney will kick off on July 17 in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.
Goalkeeper Charles Lukwago, midfielder Saidi Kyeyune and striker Steven Mukwala are the over age players included in the squad that has left Entebbe for Saudi Arabia.
Walusimbi, who has had a stellar season with the newly declared 2020/21 League champions Express, will be leading an entirely Uganda U20 team that played at AFCON.
Derrick Kakooza who was the AFCON U20 Tournament top scorer has been included in the squad.
