Like any other person, meeting your idol or role model is one of the best moments in one’s career.
For Kenneth Ssemakula, that moment has come to pass after he was summoned to the Uganda Cranes national team, just over a week ago and he is able to link up with Murushid Juuko.
The BUL FC defender says he is relishing every moment he shares with Juuko, a player he idolizes.
The two are part of the Cranes team that is currently training at Lugogo ahead of their international friendly game against South Africa on June 10.
Speaking to the press after Friday’s training, Ssemakula was quick to admit that he had admired Juuko.
“The moment I saw Juuko play is when I fell in love with his style of play. Ssemakula revealed.
“He is a complete central defender who fits in all situations. He is calm when it calls for calmness, good in the air, has great timing and rough where need be.”
Ssemakula played a key role for the Uganda Hippos side which finished as runners ups in the just concluded AFCON U20 tournament in Mauritania.
He prays that one day, him and Juuko partner in the Central defence for the National team.
“How I wish I partner with him (Juuko) in the central defence of the Uganda Cranes.”
Ssemakula is a product of the FUFA Juniors League with Busoga United Junior Team and was later promoted to the senior side.
He is one of the most highly rated youngsters in Uganda at the moment.
