Sarah Babirye Voted New UNF President 

Sarah Babirye Kityo has been voted the new Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) President at the Lugogo Arena on Saturday, June 05.

The former Youth Member of Parliament for Central Region replaces Susan Anek who served in the same role since 2007.

Babirye will hold the position for the next four years as per the UNF constitution.

To become president, she registered a landslide victory over Netball National team (She Cranes) Manager Joycline Ucanda and Christine Nampijja.

Babirye scooped 184 votes as compared to Ucada’s 41 with Nampijja managing just five.

The day also witnessed elections of the Executive that Babirye will work with.

UPDF Spokesperson Brig. Flavia Byekwaso was voted in as the new Vice President in charge of administration, Robert Kirabira is the Central Region Representative, Aidah Nambuusi becomes the new Treasure while Harriet Apolot defeated Wilberforce Mutete to become the UNF Assistant Secretary General.
