The FUFA Women Elite League will come to an end of Thursday with two games set to be played in Njeru.
The tournament that has been running for one month, with 16 teams, divided in groups of, will see four teams face off to determine the top four.
Before the finals, the first game on the day will see Wakiso Hills Face off with Bunyaruguru Girls in the third place play-offs match.
Later in the afternoon, the final between Rines WFC against She Maroons will kick off at Midday.
Coming into the game, the She Maroons have had an impressive season that has seen them win all their five games so far.
Millicent Namwembe, the current league’s top scorer with five goals will be again looked at to lift her side.
Ahead of the finals, She Maroons head coach Cida Alex Olowo says despite achieving their target thus far, they also want to take the trophy back home.
“We have achieved the target and made history as well. Olowo said.
“But we need to take this trophy back home. We have come to the super League, and now we also need to win the trophy.”
On the other hand, Bright Nyanzi Rines head Coach Rines WFC says their main target was reaching the top.
“The main target for the tournament is done. Nyanzi noted.
“We sat and said the target of achieving fifteen points, climbing five ladders, we came step by step and we are on the top step.”
In the semi finals, Rines took care of Wakiso Hills 1-0 thanks to Kautharah Naluyima’s strike while Rines WFC eliminated Bunyaruguru on Penalties.
Having stormed the finals, Rines and She Maroons now qualify to play in the FUFA Women Super League next season.
The winner of the third place play-off match will also get promoted to the FUFA Super League.
Important to note is that just as the concluded FUFA Women Super League, the Women Elite League has also been played in a tournament format.
