The Tax collectors created more chances but they couldn’t utilize them in the opening 15 minutes as Sam Ssimbwa’s showed early intent.
The hosts were forced into an early substitution as Michael Birungi came on for injured Mosses Sseruyidde.
Mukwala almost broke the deadlock when he met Alionzi Nafian’s long ball but he couldn’t have enough touch to beat Goalkeeper Waswa Yusuf.
The former Maroons and Vipers forward later put the ball in the net five minutes before the break off a header from Rwothomio Cromwel at the far post.
Substitute Ezekiel Katende forced a save from Alionzi before the Army side equalised from the resultant corner through Kitata in the 46th minute after a mix up in the box.
