City Oilers will go all out guns blazing in their second league game of the season this Saturday.
The seven time NBL defending champions face Ndejje Angels as the shortened season continues at KIU court in Kansanga.
The Oilers got off to a false start last weekend with a 66-71 loss to newcomers Nam Blazers, in a game they made 16 turnovers.
“We were inconsistent when executing our offence and missed out on some defensive rotations,” City Oilers Assistant coach Andrew Tendo told The-SportsNation in reference to the loss against Nam Blazers.
“The game against Ndejje is very important since this is a shortened season without the cushion of a second round, so every game is important if you are looking to have a good run through the playoffs based on your teams seeding.”
In the loss to Nam Blazers, only Jimmy Enabu (22) and James Okello (10) were the only Oilers who scored in double digits, and the side will seek to bounce back this time round.
Tendo added: “We have rectified the errors through the team’s practice. We have ironed out the defensive rotations and improved the team’s cohesion.”
The Angels lost to KCCA Panthers 56-70 on Saturday before stunning Betway Power 91-79 on Sunday in Mukono.
They will bank on Cikom Munbai, Mayom David among others to create all sorts of problems for the Oilers.
