Kampala Queens scored late as they overcame Uganda Martyrs Lubaga 1-0 to register their first victory at the ongoing FUFA Women Super League at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

Lukia Namubiru scored the all important goal to see her side Kampala Queens bounce back after losing 4-0 to Kawempe Muslim in the first game.

Kampala Queens could have won with a decent margin but Namubiru missed with an effort from a free kick going wide before Skipper Fauzia Najjemba failed to connect home from close range.

Namubiru broke the deadlock with two minutes left on the clock to see her side bag all the three points.

Kampala Queens now move to fourth place in Group 1 with 3 points from two games played.

For Uganda Martyrs, they suffer their first loss this season and drop to second position having beaten Makerere University and Kawempe Muslim in their opening games.
