Preview – Wounded Police Target Kitara Scalp
Police FC will be out for nothing but three points at home to Kitara on Tuesday.
The Cops are desperate to return to winning ways after conceding late in the loss to Busoga United last Saturday.
The loss was their third in six games indicating the lack of consistency as they were coming off two 3-0 victories.
Abdallah Mubiru’s side will be motivated by their good form at home this season as they have lost just twice in nine games so far with the two losses coming against URA FC and Express FC, two of the three sides vying for the title this season.
With a huge pool of attacking players to choose from, Mubiru will be confident his side can score goals against a side that has conceded 50 already this campaign.
The Cops start the day in 5th place, two points behind 4th placed KCCA FC.
Kitara are increasingly looking destined for an instant return to the Big League.
They along with MYDA FC have been the whipping Boys of the division and seen not to have a solution to that.
Their main issue has been conceding so many goals and they have already let in 50, the second worst record in the league behind MYDA (51).
The are currently on a six game losing streak since beating Wakiso Giants towards the end of the first round.
The only positive for them is that they have been scoring goals of late, netting 10 times in their last seven league outings.
They will however need to score more and produce a defensive masterclass if they are to take anything away from the game on Monday.
This will be just the second meeting between the two sides.
The first, earlier in the season, ended in a 5-0 victory for Police at Kavumba.
