Police FC assistant captain Dennis Rukuundo says there was no room for mistakes as Police FC thrashed Calvary FC 5-0 for in the first of their Uganda Cup Round of 32 played on Monday, April 05 at Lugogo.
Right back in an exclusive interview with this website side they were aware of the challenge Calvary would pose to them and that they had to use extra efforts to ensure they won.
“We came knowing what we wanted from it. Rukuundo stated
“Sometimes walking a long distance you don’t know the challenges you will face but with the first leg at home, we had to utilize it.”
In their previous Uganda Cup meeting Police FC eliminated Calvary in penalty shootout after a goalless draw and Rukuundo says they never wanted to reach that scenario.
“We expected a challenge from them and its why we handled the game with too much responsibility.
About the return leg on Friday Dennis Rukuundo says the team should have to rotate around players as there is too much congestion in the fixtures.
“I believe the coaches will rotate the team around because the fixtures are too congested and that’s why we wanted to kill off the game at home.
“At the end of the season, target a better move as a player because we are currently having a good run as a team and as an individual I would like to excel.”
Rukuundo has recently featured for Maroons, KCCA FC and APR FC before joining Po lice FC
