*Warriors 10-20 Jinja Hippos
Jinja Hippos managed to survive two yellow cards and a late blitz from hosts Warriors in a Nile Special Stout Rugby Premiership game.
The game played on Good Friday at Kyadondo, was postponed from Matchday one.
There is no Rugby Premiership action this weekend after the league took an Easter break.
Maxwell Ebonga held his nerves to score two penalties to hand the visitors a 06-00 lead at the break.
Jacob Ochen crashed over for Jinja to extend their advantage before Ebonga made his conversion.
Warriors split the uprights to reduce the deficit at 03-13.
Hippos were not done though, Tawfik Bagalana scored the try and Ebonga’s conversion was successful.
Hippos duo Jacob Ochen and James Okello were given a yellow each as the side endured a poor spell.
Samuel Odinga crossed the line and Richard Kinyai added the extras as Warriors tried to mount a comeback.
This is Hippos third victory, coming on the back of the club’s loss to Buffaloes. They move to fourth place on a 10-team log.
Warriors, bottom of the table, have lost four from as many, after previous defeats against Betway Kobs, Mongers and Pirates.
Betway Kobs are still atop, followed by Heathens and Pirates in second and third.
