Uganda Cup has acquired a new sponsor, The-SportsNation has exclusively learnt.
With headline Sponsor Stanbic Bank still on board, Uganda Cup has added paint manufacturing company Kansai Plascon Uganda.
Details of the sponsorship package will be unveiled this Friday. Plascon recently unveiled a 400m sponsorship package with UPL defending champions Vipers and are title sponsors with Rugby Club Plascon Mongers.
Uganda Cup, is a main national cup competition in Uganda, under the Federation of Uganda Football Association.
The annual competition was held first in 1971.
The 2019/20 46th edition was declared null and void last season after it was halted in March 2020 before the round of 16 was concluded due to Covid19.
The winner of the competition represents Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup, the second most prestigious tournament in African club football.
Proline are still the defending champions having won the 2018/19 championship when they beat Bright Stars FC in shootouts in a final held at Masaka Recreation ground.
KCCA and Express are joint record winners with 10 titles while SC Villa have nine to their name.
FUFA recently confirmed that this year’s Uganda Cup tournament will go on.
