Express Football Club head coach Wasswa Bbosa says it was not by that his side scored late to overcome Police FC 1-0 at Lugogo on Wednesday.
Bbosa says his players worked out the team’s plan and this enabled the side finish the first round on a high.
Forward Eric Kambale scored for with just 7minutes to the final whistle, heading home after Police failed to deal with Sadiq Ssekyembe’s in-swinging corner kick.
“We planned for the game. Wasswa Bbosa stated in a post match press conference on Tuesday.
“We have been following Police FC as the technical team and our plan worked out on the field of play.
“We pressed Police in their half and I believe the lads were determined to do exactly that, keeping the ball more than our opponents and this also helped us win.
“During this short break we are going to rectify our mistakes in the first round so we can come back stronger in the second round because we dropped some points due to carelessness yet our target was 37points.
When asked about the assurance of claiming the league trophy, Bbosa said its not yet time.
“As I earlier told you my target to win the trophy is a three years but if it happens thanks to the Almighty.
Express FC are currently second on the log after their final first round game with 32points.
