COVID-19 Pandemic: The deadly scourge has become Sport’s biggest undoing and lowest ebb.
In an ideal world, Motor rallying that often tips off with the National Rally Championship (NRC) would have been underway in Uganda but heck, its not the routine.
The sport was halted in March last year, and it seems fans will remain twiddling their fingers a little longer.
There was a glimmer of hope when the Federation of Motorsport Uganda (FMU) pencilled the Masaka rally as the post Covid-19 first rally event.
However, the event that was initially scheduled for March 5-6 has reportedly been postponed to April on unconfirmed dates.
The organisers of the event, Southern Motor Club (SMC), are also expected to change the venue to Sembabule district, the first of that kind in that part of the country.
The event’s chances of take place will however greatly hinge on clearance from National Council of Sports.
Mandatory Covid-19 tests are expected to carried out on all stake holders prior to the event.
