Uganda Cubs will learn their AFCON U17 Championship opponents on Wednesday, its official.
Uganda is among the 12 nations to take part in the 2021 AFCON U17 Championship in Morocco due March 13 – 31.
The draw for the group stages will be conducted on Wednesday at 4pm (13:00 GMT) by CAF director of competitions Samson Adamu.
The Cubs reached this stage in December last year when they beat Djibouti in the semis of the CECAFA U17 Championship thanks to an Oscar Mawa goal.
The Cubs went on to win the title in Rwanda.
Uganda played at AFCON U17 in 2019 for the first time, finishing third in group A in a Tourney hosted in Tanzania.
Then, Uganda beat Tanzania, drew Nigeria and lost to Angola.
Cameroon are the current champions, and have won the title two times just like Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia and Mali.
The qualified teams for AFCON U17:
WAFU A- Mali and Senegal
WAFU B – Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria
COSAFA – Zambia and South Africa
CECAFA – Uganda and Tanzania
UNAF – Algeria and Morocco
UNIFFAC – Cameroon and Congo.
