Uganda U20 head coach team Morley Byekwaso says they expect to put up a good show in their first game at the 2021 AFCON U20 tournament.
The Hippos are currently in Mauritania as they gear up for their first game against Mozambique on Monday.
Before going to Mauritania, they took part in a mini tournament in Tanzania, where they won one game and lost the other against the hosts.
On Sunday in group A, Mauritania lost 1-0 to Cameroon in the opening game.
Speaking after Sunday’s last training, Byekwaso says they expect to put up a good show, though still coping with the climate conditions.
“Our last training has been so good because we are so much geared up to putting up a good show here at the tournament,” said Byekwaso.
“Players are geared up, though the climate is not favouring us, the wind is so heavy and it is hard to breathe but we are trying to catch up.
“The climate is not going to affect only us, but also our first opponents and we are trying to catch up and we expect to put up a good show.”
At AFCON U20, the hippos are drawn in group A with hosts Mauritania, Cameroon and Mozambique.
