Preview:
Express will play host to rivals and defending champions Vipers SC in a rescheduled StarTimes Uganda Premier League fixture at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
The visitors beat MYDA FC 7-0 last Saturday at Kitende in the build up to this fixture in a game that was highlighted by Yunus Ssentamu brace on his debut.
You may not read much from a mauling against a minnow but that created huge morale for Fred Kajoba’s charges.
But against Express, they face a resolute side at the back and one that can hurt any opponent in the league.
The Red Eagles beat SC Villa in their last game before the league took a break to move into seventh place with eight points. In addition, they have won both their fixtures at home.
George Ssenkaaba scored the only goal of the game but is expected to start off the bench, as Frank Kalanda is expected to lead the line.
This is the fixture that a win has eluded the Red Eagles but they will fancy their chances at home given a list of tough fixtures ahead including URA and KCCA.
Bbosa’s side will move to second place with a reasonable win while Kajoba’s Venoms will be catapulted to the summit if they overcome the Red Eagles.
What The Coaches Said:
Wasswa Bbosa (Express) – We are at our home , we have tried to rectify our previous mistakes and it showed in our previous game here against Villa as we did not concede and that was one of our problems at the start but at least, now we’ve worked on it in this short spell and also having our offensive forces better.
Fred Kajoba (Vipers) – We know the kind of opponent we are going to play and the atmosphere. They are a good side but we are set for the challenge. We are not going to be complacent despite our last win.
Key Players:

Frank Kalanda (Express) – He has scored two goals for the Red Eagles this season so far (against Onduparaka and Bright Stars). Machete, as commonly know, has set his target at this season’s golden boot but an improvement from his 11 goals last season will be a good milestone for a forward who will be sharing minutes with George Ssenkaaba.

Dissan Galiwango (Vipers) – He joined Vipers in a controversial transfer from Express where he was the club captain. The Red Eagles contested the move and he was later ordered to pay his former club Sh25m before he was issued a license as the Federation found him guilty of breaching his contract. He will be booed by the few fans that will attend the game, but he will be extra motivated against his former pay masters as well.
How To Watch:
The match will be broadcast live on Sanyuka TV courtesy of League sponsors StarTimes.
