Express FC have completed the signing of Uganda Cranes midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba.
Mutyaba who was a free agent following the expiration of his contract at KCCA FC in June, joins the Red Eagles as their first acquisition in the January transfer window.
His signing was announced on Wednesday afternoon via the club’s official website.
Mutyaba is understood to have signed a one-year deal at the club and will don his favourite number 10 jersey.
Speaking during his unveiling, Mutyaba noted that he decided to join Express despite interest from elsewhere.
“First of all i would like to thank the management of the club (Express FC) for making this happen. He noted.
“Yes i had many options on the table but none fitted the bill to my satisfaction. I join a club that has a lot of ambition, good organisation and great players therefore i couldn’t have made a better decision.”
Mutyaba has for a while now been regarded as one of the finest footballers in Uganda.
His abilities on the ball and creative skills have seen him win several titles with KCCA FC and also bagged a player of the year gong at some point.
Express FC becomes the 27-year old’s fourth team in the Uganda Premier League.
The playmaker who is capped 27 times for the national team first played at Maroons FC before joining Victoria University in 2012. He then moved to KCCA FC in 2015 where he featured at since 2015.
At Express, he also becomes their 19th signing this season after bringing in 18 players at the start of the current campaign.
Express FC are currently 6th in the UPL with 8 points from four games having won two and drawn as many.
