URA FC’s Saidi Kyeyune has been handed his first start at the on-going 2020 CHAN tournament in Cameroon.
Kyeyune who was an unused substitute against Rwanda, netted the Cranes goal in the 2-1 loss to Togo and as a reward, he starts in a midfield three on Tuesday against Morocco.
He is not the only one who has been handed a first start, as team captain Halid Lwaliwa who has been enduring fitness issues, also starts at centre-back.
The Vipers SC captain starts in place of Patrick Mbowa who was unfortunate to score an own goal against the Localhawks, but started the first two games.
The other is striker Brian Aheebwa who comes in for Muhammad Shaban as the central striker.
Aheebwa who is the current Uganda Premier League top scorer, has surprisingly been left on the bench for the first two games.
There is also a return to the starting team for Wakiso Giants FC forward Vianne Ssekajugo.
Ssekajugo came off the bench for Ibrahim Orit, against Togo.
Uganda needs a victory to progress to the knockout stages of the competition for the first time in history.
They currently sit bottom of the pile with just a single point from two games.
Morocco lead the standings of Group C with four points after drawing with Rwanda and defeating Togo.
The other group C game will see Rwanda taking on Togo at the same time (2200hrs EAT.
