Uganda Hippos will learn their fate at the forthcoming Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations Championship.

The draw for the group stages will be held this Monday, January 25 at 1pm (EAT) at Hilton Hotel, Yaounde, Cameroon.

The Hippos is among the 12 countries to take part in this year’s tournament, including hosts Mauritania due February 14 to March 4.

The Hippos, debutants at the tourney, sealed their slot when they beat Kenya to reach the CECAFA U20 final, before beating Tanzania in the final.

The 2021 U-20 AFCON will be the 16th edition and is held every after two years.

It is organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for players aged 20 and below.

This will be the first edition in Africa U-20 Cup of Nations to have expanded to 12 teams instead of eight.

Nigeria are the record winners having won the title seven times while Mali are the defending champions.

The 12 teams that will be pitted in the groups are: Mauritania (the host), Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gambia, Ghana, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda.
