PSL: Onyango Makes Fourth Straight Clean Sheet In Sundowns Draw

Goalkeeper Denis Onyango extended his perfect display as Mamelodi Sundowns settled for another goalless draw in DStv Premiership.

Onyango kept his fourth consecutive clean sheet in PSL as the Brazilians drew with Bloemfontein Celtic on Tuesday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

He had earlier kept out Super Sport United (0-0), Baroka (2-0) and Orlando Pirates (1-0).

Against Celtic, the Cranes Captain pulled a reflex save to push Motebang Sera’s acrobatic effort above the goal frame.

He will feel lucky for not conceding a goal earlier in the first half when he was beaten by Siphele Luthuli whose goal-bound shot was blocked by Tebogo Langerman.

Onyango has played 11 of the 12 games for the Brazilians, missing a 4-3 victory against Amazulu where Zambian Kennedy Mwene was in the posts.

He has conceded twice this season – Against Maritzburg (1-1) by Ishmael Mngonyama and Golden Arrows (1-1) by Michael Gumedde.

In total, Onyango has kept nine clean sheets, including three from as many in the opening games.

Sundowns are top of the log with 26 points and are still unbeaten with seven wins and five draws.

Onyango is a six-time PSL winner.
