Former Uganda National team Boxing captain Isaac Ssenyange aka Zebra Mando has been shot dead.
Mando was attacked by unknown gunmen in the late hours of Tuesday night at his home in Bwaise, Kampala.
“Unknown gunmen kicked the door, put the wife on gun point before shooting Mando who was trying to escape and save his life,” a Bwaise resident has told The-SportsNation.
His son is quoted as saying that he was chased from his house before he was shot dead in a corridor in the neighborhood.

Zebra Mando was currently the Head of General Duties of Uganda Boxing Federation Head at the time of his death.
Uganda Boxing Federation President (UBF) Moses Muhangi posted: “I am saddened by the brutal passing of MY MAN, My friend, My Everything. Till we meet again. RIP Zebra.”
The former middleweight champion, Mando captained the Bombers in 2011 at the All Africa Games.
Last year, Mando had organised to make a return to the ring with a fight against 41-year-old Anton Sjomkin in a Light heavyweight non title in Russia.
He leaves behind a wife Mercy Mukakunsi who is also a Boxing coach and a son Boxer Junior Isaac Ssenyange.
