Mutyaba Targets Europe After CECAFA U17 Success

Uganda Cubs creative midfielder Travis Mutyaba is dreaming about a stint in Europe after taking the Cecafa U17 Championship by storm.

Mutyaba was named the best player of the tourney after helping Uganda to CECAFA defence in the concluded championship in Rwanda.

“Iam so happy, this is a great milestone in my football Career,” he told The-SportsNation.

When asked about his Career dream, Mutyaba was bold and said:

“I dream of playing in Europe, and Ajax Armsterdam of Netherlands is my dream club.”

He was on target in the opener but notably made two assists for Oscar Mawa as Uganda beat Kenya 5-0, he never looked back.

At 17, his main target however should be establishing himself into the Vipers senior squad.

” Yes it’s true, but football has different stages. When I come back home, iam going to continue with the hard work,” the youngster added.

Mutyaba dedicates his success to his family, friends, coaches and his previous academies.

“I dedicate this achievement to my father who is and always supportive, plus my mother, friends, coaches and my academies, they have made me what I am today.”

Uganda Cubs dominated the just concluded Cecafa U17 scooping the individual accolades with Oscar Mawa (Top scorer) and Henry Mwebe(Best goal Keeper) the other winners.
