Mutakubwa Saves Penalty As Kyetume Hands UPDF First Loss

There was late drama as Kyetume FC inflicted first loss to newcomers UPDF FC at FUFA Technical centre Njeru.

With a game destined to a stalemate, UPDF were awarded a penalty after a foul on Seif Batte but Joel Mutyakubwa was equal to Fred Okot’s effort in the 88th minute.

The shot stopper then initiated a counter attack which resulted into another penalty at the other end of the pitch when Del Kabuye was brought down into the area.

Defender Mustafa Mujuzi, who joined the side from Proline, stepped up to score a late winner from the spot.

The loss, is the first UPDF who had won three from as many games – They beat Busoga United, Kitara and BUL FC.

Kyetume, who had drawn their three opening games, takes home their first win of the 2020/21 campaign and move to six points.

What Next – UPDF FC will hope to return to winning ways when they host Police in battle of the forces in Bombo on Saturday while Kyetume host BUL on Sunday at Njeru.
