Preview – Can Villa Stop High Flying KCCA?
KCCA FC have already shown their intent of winning this year’s league title. And if it comes to pass, they will be two title’s short of Villa’s 16. That speaks a lot about the magnitude of this encounter.
Three wins from as many, including a 8-0 mauling of Onduparaka, have made KCCA FC unstoppable courtesy of their striking partnership of Brian Aheebwa and Sam Ssenyonjo who have notched five goals each.

For the Jogoos on the other hand, despite their promising start that saw them beat Mbarara and a point off BUL, all that was erased after the side lost to URA FC.
They conceded a late Said Kyeyune header but the manner in which they conducted themselves throughout the game was worrying.
They were out played and utterly dominated!
“We lost against URA but it was not the end of the road, we are not going to lose two games in a row,” Captain Asuman Alishe has told The-SportsNation.
“We have ironed out our mistakes from the last game and we want to move forward. Facing KCCA is a big game but its a do or die for us.
“We have to win, its a must win for us, and we have got the right tactics from the coaches to see us through.”
Alishe and his centre back partner of Gavin Kizito face an uphil task of handling Aheebwa and Ssenyonjo, while Ndahiro who played URA hurt, has to ensure that he is at his best because his explosive moments forward will be as well required.
Stats
League Meetings
Last season, KCCA FC beat SC Villa 4-1 at Lugogo with Joseph Kafumbe, Erisa Ssekisambu, Mustafa Kizza and Allan Okello on target while Amir Kakomo scored a consolation for Villa. The second round game was not played due to Covid19.
Villa’s last home win against KCCA can be traced back in the 2017/18 season when they ran away 2-1 winners in a game played at Masaka Recreational ground. Then, Martin Kizza came off the bench to score the winner after Timothy Awany had canceled Allan Kyambadde goal for Villa.
In their last 15 league meetings, KCCA has won nine while five have been draws.
