Preview – Police FC Want To Set Early Pace
Police have collected seven points from three opening games, inspired by two away wins off newcomers MYDA and Kitara. The only dirt in that decent run came on the opening day in form of a goalless draw against Wakiso, a game they should have won if it was not for some good saves from goalkeeper Derrick Emukule.
Even before the season started, no one would write Police off thanks to their transfer deals which were headlined by experienced Uganda Cranes veteran Mawejje.
Ocen, who scored 12 goals last season, has started from where he stopped. Bagging a double against MYDA and an hat-trick against Kitara.

They will surely miss Zaga who has redeemed himself since joining from Vipers but head coach Abdallah Mubiru has confidence in his replacements.
“We have some players out due to injury but that shouldn’t worry us since the team has alot of players for selection, so I strongly believe we shall have three points come tomorrow,” Mubiru said on Monday.
The acting captain and Right back Denis Rukundo says Busoga is a tricky team but has hope that his side has what it takes to grab three points.
“Busoga is a tricky side but after our two wins in a row, we are hopeful that we will keep our brilliant form continuing. The lads are in all good shape and ready for the game.”
The visitors on the other hand, have seen off field struggles reflect through the results on the pitch.
The side lost to newcomers UPDF in bombo before they were humbled by BUL in a Jinja Derby.
In what was supposed to be another winnable fixture, they could only manage just a point against visiting Kyetume.
The assistant coach of Busoga United FC Fred Lumu says his team is on a test against Police.
“Police is a good side that has recruited many players with a lot of experience, we respect them but we don’t fear them,” Lumu said.
“My boys are training so hard to secure the three points and ready for the team.”

The Stats:
League Meetings;
Last season, Busoga were 2-1 winners over Police at Might Arena despite having Ismail Kawawulo and Umar Mukobe sent off! Andrew Samson Kigozi had canceled out Boban Zirintusa goal but Julius Debbo grabbed the winner. The second round match was played due to Covid19.
The last meeting at Lugogo was in the 2018/19 season when Police won 3-2 thanks to Johnson Odong brace and Ashraf Mugume winner. Dan Ssewava and Faisal Muwawu had brought Busoga (trading as Kirinya Jinja then) level.
This will be the eighth league meeting between the sides. Busoga has won four to Police’s three.
