Wakiso 1-1 Vipers: Kajoba Blames ‘Poor Pitch’ For Stalemate

Viper SC head coach Fred Kajoba has blamed the “poor” playing surface Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium for his side’s draw against Wakiso Giants.

Debutant Shaban Muhammad scored for the Visitors but Viane Sekajugo made it count for the hosts as the two sides played a one-all draw.

This was Vipers first league game of the season after missing the opening two against MYDA and Express due to their engagement in CAF Champions league.

Kajoba says the pitch was too muddy which proved to be a disservice to his team hence costing them their would be three points.

“We tried to do everything, three goalkeeper-to-beat chances and i think you can’t train from Kitende and you come in this mud and play well, I think the mud was too much which unfavoured my players. We tried everything but I think the pitch played us!”

However, he said, that his side is going to build on that point because they target to win games and they are not on any pressure of how their rivals and other teams are doing.

“We are going to build from this because the league has just started. We want to see that we win games because its our mission, we are not looking at KCCA FC, we only have to win our games without looking at any other club.”

Vipers are coming back in action on Wednesday December 16, when they host newcomers Kitara FC.
