*Bulemeezi Vs Butambala – 3pm
The Kabaka of Buganda his Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi will be the chief guest at the 2020 Masaza cup opener, it has been confirmed.
Buganda minister for Sports, Youth and Recreation Henry Ssekabembe, revealed the good news.
Ssekabembe confirmed the day’s program for the Masaza opener between defending champions Bulemeezi and Butambala this Saturday at FUFA Technical centre in Njeru.
“All preparations for 2020 Masaza cup are done,” Ssekabembe said.
“On Saturday at 1:30 pm, all invited guests with invitations will be arriving, at 2:10 pm it will be Katikiro’s arrival then at 2:40 pm the Kabaka of Buganda will appear before the entire kingdom in his own county of Kyaggwe at FUFA Technical center Njeru and the match is expected to kick off at exactly 3pm.”
Kabaka has made rare public appearances this year with news circulating about deteriorating healthy few months back.
Ssekabembe cautioned the invited guests and urged them to keep time.
He said: “I request all the invited people first of to come with your invitation letters, secondly not to come with extra company as you all know that we are in lockdown Situation.
“Thirdly, you keep time to see that you drive carefully in order to avoid accident, Every body must come with your mask because no one is going to be allowed in the stadium without a mask.”
He said that Buganda is determined to abide by all the rules of Covid19 and the organising committee has done everything possible in line with safety.
He added: “We are very determined to see that this year we have a tournament full of peace and first one its historical kind in this kingdom to played in the lockdown situation.”
