Trio Returns As Vipers Readies For Al-Hilal

Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC have welcomed back the Uganda Cranes trio from duty as the side prepares for CAF Champions League engagement.

Karim Watambala, Disan Galiwango and Halid Lwaliwa reported to training on Thursday at Kitende.

The trio were part of the Cranes team that faced South Sudan in an AFCON Qualifiers doubleheader.

Vipers have intensified their preparations ahead of the CAF Champions League qualifiers with Sudanese side Al Hilal.

The first leg for the preliminary round will be played on November 28 at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende.

The Venoms will then after travel to Khartoum for a return leg scheduled between December 4 and 5.

If Vipers negotiate past Al Hilal, they will face winner between Mauritania’s Nouadhibour or Ghana’s giants Asante Kotoko in the first round of the qualifiers for a slot in the lucrative group stages.

A couple of players including Rashid Toha have recovered and returned to training with the club but there are some injury woes as well.
