Federation of Uganda Football Association, FUFA, has provided a classification report after inspecting football stadiums in the country.
This, was conducted by the FUFA Stadium inspection committee under the ‘FUFA stadium classification project.’
Of the 31 stadiums inspected, only Vipers’ St Mary’s stadium in Kitende has been graded under level 2.
Six stadiums including KCCA FC’s MTN Omondi stadium (Lugogo) have been classified under level three.
Level One stadium is capable of hosting FIFA matches while Level Two can host CAF matches.
Level three can host UPL matches while level four can host Big League games.
FUFA Deputy CEO Decolas Kizza confirmed that no UPL game will be played at grounds that don’t fall at least under Level three category.
Three grounds have been ungraded.
