Uganda Cubs Squad Trimmed As Team Intensify Training

The Squad for Uganda Under-17 Boys team, the Cubs, has been shortened to 35.

An initial squad of 52 players has so had a week-long training at FUFA Technical centre Njeru.

FUFA has said that the squad will be further trimmed to 20 players before the team heads out to Kigali, Rwanda.

The Uganda Cubs will take part in the AFCON zonal Qualifiers in Rwanda due December 13th to 28th, 2020.

The team, coached by Hamza Lutalo and Brian Ssenyondo, is in group B alongside Ethiopia and Kenya.

The CECAFA (Central and East) Qualifiers will determine the two teams that make it to the AFCON U17 Finals in Morocco.

The team is expected to end training at Njeru on December 9th.

Among the players released include two goalkeepers Rickson Gubya (Juventus Namasuba) and Mugisha Tumusiime (Paidha Black Angels JT).

Derrick Kato, Haruna Kisakye, Carlos Kaddu and Akram Katende are some of the other players dropped.
