Uganda Cranes Striker Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru returned from a layoff as his side Wycombe Wanderers lost 2-1 to Norwich on Saturday in the English Championship.
This was his second league appearance for Uche who joined Wycombe Wanderers on a three-year deal from Hearts in August this year.
His last game was against Blackburn last month, and on Saturday, he came off the bench to replace Scott Kashket in the 69th minute.
“Great to be back! It just wasn’t meant to be on the day,” he tweeted after the game.
“Proud of my team mates performance against a good Norwich team and I have no doubt that if we keep playing like that the results will come. See you on Tuesday.”
On Tuesday, Uche and Wycombe will face visiting Watford at Adams Park.
Mario Vracic scored a late winner, a 90th minute free kick to be exact, to condemn Wycombe to another loss.
Teemu Pukki had put Norwich in the lead before Kashket leveled for the Wanderers who remain without a point.
Mubiru, born in London holds both Nigerian and Ugandan parentage and agreed to play for the Uganda Cranes.
He is part of the Uganda Cranes squad that will face South Sudan in AFCON Qualifiers double-header.
Uche, who scored two goals in Scottish Premiership last season for Hearts, has played for Watford, Crewe Alexandria, Doncaster Rovers, Port Vale, Blackpool and Cambridge United.
