*Pyramids 2-0 Horoya
Egyptian Premier League moneybags Pyramids FC beat Guinea’s AC Horoya 2-0 to reach the CAF Confederation Cup final on their first time of asking.
Pyramids were the better side in the day but wasted chances especially in the first half in a game played at the Mohammed V stadium in Morocco.
The side, home for Cranes winger Lumala Abdul (injured), will face RS Berkane in the final this Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco.
Horoya, who entered the game with only 14 names in squad as most of their players had tested positive for Covid19, failed to mount a challenge on the night.
Substitute Ibrahim Hassan and captain Abdullah El Said scored the two late goals.
Horoya thought they had halved the deficit with five minutes left, but Alseny Camara’s goal was canceled by the VAR after he was adjudged to have picked the ball from an offside position.
Earlier, Pyramids FC had their penalty decision reversed by VAR after Eric Traore seemed to have been brought down in the forbidden area.
