Lawrence Bukenya: Midfielder Hails Mutebi, Vows To Win Titles At Wakiso

Wakiso Giants new signing Lawrence Bukenya has heaped praise on KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi and vowed to win titles at his new club.

The midfielder sealed his three-year permanent deal to Wakiso where he spent the 2019/20 season on a loan.

“First and foremost, I’m immensely grateful for my time at KCCA FC but as a kid, you grow up and leave home and I will forever cherish my time at Lugogo,” Bukenya told The-SportsNation.

“I thank Coach Mike (Mutebi) for the platform he tabled for me, He is my football father even right now that I’m at Wakiso I can still give him a call and talk to him.”

During his five-year spell at Lugogo, Bukenya has won two Uganda Premier League tittles and as many Ugand Cup trophies.

He is confident that his efforts and experience, together with with teamwork, will guide Wakiso Giants to winning titles.

“When the chance of joining this great club was tabled for me, I didn’t bother anyone but my only option was sign here, Wakiso is a good team and with me I believe we can go far,” he added.

“At KCCA FC, I won trophies and I am not satisfied. I want to win more trophies at Wakiso Giants and I believe we can win a major trophy next season.”
