Jacob Kiplimo broke social media after winning the 5000m race at the Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava on Tuesday night.
The 19-year old showed grit and held on to beat pre-race favourite Seleman Barega of Ethiopia to win in meet record of 12:48.63.
The distance’s World record holder Joshua Cheptegei congratulated his “young brother”, commending his hard work.
Musician and renown Politician Bobi Wine (Robert Kyagulanyi) thanked the youngster for making Uganda proud.
