CAF has revealed the key dates for the 2020/21 Champions League and Confederation Cup.
The Member Associations have been given from September 1 to October 20, 2020 to register their clubs that will take part.
Uganda will be represented by Vipers (Champions League) and KCCA FC (Confederation Cup).
Vipers were declared 2019/20 UPL winners after the league was ended due to Covid19 hence earning a ticket to CAF Champions League qualifiers.
Uganda’s representative at CAF Confederation is always the Uganda Cup winner. Last season’s Uganda Cup was not concluded and FUFA said that they will continue monitoring the situation with the desire to conclude the competition.
However, for effective planning and persuant to the FUFA competitions Article 16(6), the committee nominated KCCA for the CAF Confederation 2020/21 ticket.
CAF, via the official website, has said that all engaged teams must respect the Club Licensing procedure and cooperate with their respective Associations, as non-licensed clubs will be refused participation.
The first registration window starts on 21 October and end on 5 November 2020. Second window will start on November 6 to 19, 2020.
Preliminary round matches first Leg will be played between 20 to 22 November 2020 while Second Leg will be held between 27 to 29 November 2020.
The First round qualifiers first leg will be held between December 11 to 13, while second legs are scheduled to take place from December 18 to 20, 2020.
Confederation Cup Play off round first leg will be played on February 12 and 13 while the second legs will be played on February 19, 2021.
The group stage of the Champions League will start on February 12, 2021 and end on April 11.
The Confederation Cup groups will kick off from March 10 to April 26.
The finals of the CAF Confederation will be played on July 10 and July 17 for Champions League.
CAF has also said that there will be five substitutes used in the interclubs matches for next season.
