Wakiso Giants FC Teases Fans Over Messi Transfer

Uganda Premier Lwague side Wakiso Giants FC has made fun of a possible transfer of Barcelona Captain Lionel Messi.

As World’s top clubs are queuing up to sign the Argentine ace, the Purple Sharks posted the photo of Messi with a caption of “any time now” followed by their usual hash tags.

The deal to acquire Messi by Wakiso Giants is of course wide off the mark for a club that recently approved a budget of Sh800m for the 2020/21 season.

League rivals Onduparaka, one of the clubs they beat at Wakissha in January this year, mocked Wakiso with a retweet saying “It will end in tears.”

Fans have treated the ‘joke’ with all the respect it deserves as seen in the comments section.

Wakiso Giants, bankrolled by renown Businessman Musa ‘Atagenda’ Ssebulime, is one of the League’s big spenders.

Even with a state of the art bus, Wakiso’s shot to trigger the £630m in Messi’s release clause is a dream, after Barcelona said that the “free to go” clause has expired.

Can Lionel Messi deliver on a wet evening at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium?

Wakiso Giants, preparing for their second season in top flight, have acquires coach Douglas Bamweyana, signed new players Edward Satulo, Pius Kaggwa, Ibrahim Owen Kasule and Tom Masiko while Aggrey Madoi (BUL) and Muwadda Mawejje (Police) are on their list of departures.
