Sofapaka Unveils Ssebwato’s Replacement

Kenya Premier League side Sofapaka FC has confirmed signing Nicholas Ssebwato’s replacement ahead of the 2020/21 season kickoff.

Ssebwato who joined sofapaka FC to fill the void left by Ismail Watenga in December last year, recently ended his stay at the club alongside former Bright Stars FC teammate Brian Kayanja.

The ‘Batoto Ba Mungu‘ (Children of God) have completed the signing of goalkeeper Kevin Omondi from league rivals Wazito.

The club has also confirmed signing Mathare United midfielder Roy Okal. He and Omondi have both signed two years contracts.

Omondi will have to fight for a first team position against Richard Aimo and Isaiah Wakasala.

Sofapaka won their only league title in 2009 and have gone 10 seasons without triumph after finishing 10th with 31 points last season.

Football Kenya Federation set August 10, 2020, and November 2, 2020, as the opening and closing dates for the pre-season BetKing Premier League transfer window.

The Federation said that they will announce the kickoff dates for the 2020/21 season soon.

Sofapaka recently renewed their partnership with Betika for two more years in a deal that was worth Kenya Shillings 77M for the next two seasons.
