Israel Premier League side FC Ashdod have confirmed acquiring Uganda Cranes and Vipers SC forward Fahad Bayo.
The Club is also home to Uganda Cranes defender Timothy Awany.
FC Ashdod confirmed Bayo and Serbian defender Nenad Svetkevic on Monday as their new signings ahead of the 2020/21 season.
“…we are delighted to announce two impressive acquisitions of two foreign players, who have signed long-term contracts for years, in the long term vision and building a quality staff that will lead the team to fight for goals at the top of the table,” reads a long statement, in short from FC Ashdod.

Bayo scored 12 goals in 23 league appearances for Vipers, a side he joined last year after ending his spell with Zambia’s Buildcon FC.
The former Proline FC striker who also scored a goal for Uganda Cranes in 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Malawi in Namboole, has been linked to a move to South Africa.
FC Ashdod has added: “Aziz Bayou (read Bayo) and Svetkovich will soon arrive in Israel and join their new friends immediately after completing their isolation duty upon entering the country.”
In a short statement on their pages, Vipers has wished Bayo “good luck” and “thanks for all the memories.”

The Move Was Inevitable
After returning to Uganda from Buildcon, Bayo set the Premier League on fire with his incredible performances. He played with power and easily shouldered off defenders on his way to a 12-goal tally.
The performances were integral as Vipers clinched the league with 54 points when the season was cancelled due to Covid19 pandemic.
His performance triggered interests from clubs in South Africa, Morocco and Algeria.
He football career can be traced from his early days at Lugazi Youth Academy and Friends kd Soccer Academy.
He was also the top scorer in the Uganda National Secondary Schools competition (Copa Coca Cola) in 2014 when he scored 11 goals for the champions, Kibuli SS.
He joined Proline FC in 2014 before leaving for Zambian Buildcon in 2018.
Besides Awany, Bayo joins Luwagga Kizito (Hapoel Kfar Saba) as the other Uganda Cranes player in Israel Premier League.
Fahad Bayo joins Mustafa Kizza (KCCA) as the other player to secure a deal abroad in the ongoing transfer window. Kizza joined Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact.
