Uganda Premier League side Kyetume FC have announced the signing of Uganda Cranes defender Bernard Muwanga but the player is having no knowledge of the ongoing situation.
The club has on Wednesday took to social media and unveiled the Bright Stars captain.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, our first signing, the Uganda Cranes home based skipper Bernard Muwanga,” reads a club post.
Kyetume, on Facebook, have added that the 26year old has signed a one year contract.
However, when contacted by this website, Muwanga, in an exclusive interview, has refuted the new developments.
“I am unaware of this,” Muwanga said about signing for Kyetume. “I am even in the Village eating my food.”
“I haven’t signed for any club yet.
“The truth is that I talked with Kyetume officials, they revealed their interest in me but we failed to agree on personal terms.”
Muwanga has been linked with a move to Tanzania’s Mtibwa Sugar and Kenyan giants AFC Leopards.
Vipers SC, coached by Muwanga’s former gaffer Fred Kajoba, are also reportedly interested in Muwanga.
Muwanga played for Proline FC in the half of the 2019/20 season before returning to Bright Stars.
He had has played for KCCA FC (2018) and captained SC Villa from 2016 to 2018.
