Kyetume FC President Ruben Mubiru Kaggwa has said that they have “not unveiled any player yet” despite the club announcing Bernard Muwanga as their first signing.

On Wednesday, the club took to social media to unveil Muwanga, adding that he has signed a one year contract with the Mukono-based club.

In an exclusive interview with this website, the Bright Stars captain Muwanga later refuted claims, saying that he has not moved to Kyetume.

Kyetume FC announced signing Bernard Muwanga

Kyetume President Mubiru, on one of the club platforms, has let it loose:

“Every player who wants to hype himself begins with Kyetume FC as a prospective new signing,” he wrote. This is very wrong and bad.”

“For us we have not unveiled any player for 2020/21 season yet. It is true we have been in talks with some players but we haven’t concluded as alleged by hypers.

“Kyetume FC management informs our fans and media that the unveiling ceremony shall be done and every one will be informed on the date and time. Please be patient till that day. Club President.”

The statement is a real bullet in the foot for the club that used their official Facebook page to unveil the acquisition of Muwanga.

Kyetume FC has reportedly been at the end of some troubled deals, with some players complaining about the club’s unfaithfulness in completing payment of sign-on fees as promised.
