Uganda Cranes: We Haven’t Been Paid – Hassan Wasswa To Museveni

Uganda Cranes star Hassan Wasswa Mawanda has called out President Museveni saying that they haven’t been paid yet.

Museveni promised Uganda Cranes players $1M after the team reached the round of 16 of the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

Uganda reached the knockout for the first time since 1978 before they lost to Senegal 1-0 courtesy of Sadio Mane strike.

The promise, made last year, has not been fulfilled by the President.

“…we have to get that money because if we always stay silent we shall end up being the losers. Please Mr President we haven’t been paid yet,” Wasswa tweeted.

Wasswa’s tweet was a response to goalkeeper Salim Jamal’s earlier tweet who reluctantly asked whether the team has to first see renown NRM supporter Balam Barugahare first so as to be paid.

Last week, Balam the music promoter, came to the rescue and cleared the financial demands of socialite Bad Black who allegedly demanded government over Sh500M for a Covid19 sensitisation advert.
