Police FC defender Denis Rukundo is set to return to Rwanda, reports in the country have stated.
Rayon Sports have reached advanced talks with the right back according to New times.
“Rayon are a team that I would love to play for, hopefully, the talks will culminate into a contract,” Rukundo told New times.
“My agent is in talks with the club, and so far so good.”
The defender is expected to fill the boots of Eric Iradukunda who joined Rwanda’s Police FC.
If this comes to pass, Rukundo will be braced for the Rwanda League return where he last played for APR in the 2018-19 season before he was released by the record winners in June last year.
Rukondo returned to Uganda and joined Police FC last season where he filled the void left behind by Paul Willa.
He started with Maroons and later joined KCCA FC before signing for APR in September 2017.
Rayon finished second after the football season in Rwanda was ended due to Covid19 by FERWAFA who awarded the title to APR.
Rayon won their ninth league title in 2018/19 season.
