Gor Mahia’s Ghanaian import Jackson Owusu is trapped in a Nairobi hotel over uncleared arreas.
The midfielder joined Gor Mahia in the January transfer window as a free agent after his contact with Asante Kotoko had expired.
Kenya’s Daily Nation has reported that the Ghanaian owes Jimlizer Hotel Ksh600,000, where he has been staying.
The bill has aggravated due to the ongoing lockdown in the country with no sport action because of Covid19.
He told Daily Nation: “Gor Chairman Ambrose Rachier has been promising to come and assist me but he has not been here. I am not allowed to leave with anything out of the hotel until their is a commitment from the club that the money would be paid. As at now, I don’t know when this will happen.”
He noted that his parents back in Kumasi, Ghana are very worried about his current situation and he thanked some Gor fans who have visited him with food and support.
Owusu was part of the Ghana squad were runners up in the 2014 CHAN tournament held in South Africa.
