Moses Mwase is the new president of the Uganda Swimming Federation (USF), its official.
Mwase replaces Dr Donald Rukare at the Federation’s helm after the latter was appointed by State Minister for Sports Hamson Obua as the new chairman for National Council of Sports.
Mwase also doubles as the Director Privatization Unit in the finance Ministry and he has been the Secretary General of USF.
He has been appointed by USF Executive Committee to serve out the rest of the term until the next election in 2021.

“During its Extraordinary Meeting held on Monday 16 March 2020 at the USF Offices, the USF Executive unanimously appointed Mr. Moses B. MWASE to the vacant position of USF President effective immediately,” reads an official statement from USF.
Mwase fills the big boots left behind by Rukare who was the President of USF since 2005, a period of 15 years, when he took over from the late Jerry Dralga.
The Extra ordinary meeting which has the power to fill vacant positions on the Executive and thereafter report to the next Assembly of the Federation, also named Albert Wasswa to the vacant position of Secretary General, previously held by Mwase.
Max KANYEREZI (also holding the position of Competitions Secretary) is the new Assistant Secretary General previously held by Wasswa.
“The Executive will report to the next Assembly of the Federation due to sit on Saturday 21 March 2020 at the Uganda Olympic Committee offices,” adds the statement from USF.
