Golden Boot Still Within Reach – Kyetume’s Ssentongo also opens up about drinking alcohol
Kyetume FC forward Robert Ssentongo has said that he can still finish this season as the top scorer.
The veteran forward made the remarks when he was named the Pilsner player of the month of February.
Ssentongo has so far scored eight league goals, five adrift of leading goalscorer Steven Mukwala who has scored 13.
“I can score those goals within the remaining games,” said a confident veteran forward. “The boot is still within my reach. I can even score five goals in two matches.”
Ssentongo has hit top form of recent, scoring six league goals and making four assists in the concluded month of February to see Kyetume jump out of relegation zone.
He has been the league’s top scorer on four different occasssions – 2004 (Simba FC), 2011/12, 2014/15 and 2015/16 with URA FC.
“I have my secrets that have led to my longevity at the top that I may not say here,” said Ssentongo when asked on what has kept him at the top of his game. “Many people will tell you that I drink Alcohol, yes, but I know when to drink and when not to. I know what I want and I have been focussed since day one.”
Ssentongo has also been named the best Footballer in February at the Real Stars Fortebet monthly awards.
