Women U17 World Cup: Ayub Khalifa Positive Ahead Of Return Leg

Uganda Women U17 Coach Ayub Khalifa is positive that his side will eliminate Tanzania in the World Cup Qualifiers.

Uganda, who lost 2-1 to Tanzania in the first leg, will host the second leg at Startimes Stadium Lugogo on Saturday 14th, this month.

In the Dar-es-salam Tanzania game, Aisha Masaka’s brace helped Tanzania recover from Fauzia Najjemba’s early goal to take the first leg advantage.

On Wednesday morning, the team resumed training at Kawempe Muslim and coach Ayub is positive that his side will get a win

“We have resumed training ahead of our return leg with Tanzania and what we want is a win having lost 2-1 in the first leg,” Ayub explained after the first training session.

“We are basically going to look at the mistakes we did, especially the defense and goal keeping and hopefully by 14th Saturday which is the game day, we will be able to get a win we need on Tanzania.”

If the girls negotiate past this leg, they will advance to face a winner between Sao Tome and Cameroon in the final qualification round before the finals in November, in India.
